Beyond Borders and Fronteras Exibit to Highlight Immigration at Westminster College

Westminster College's Diversity Council presents Beyond Borders and Fronteras, an art, film and interfaith event highlighting the current debate on immigration. Events will take place Feb. 11-22, 2008 throughout the Westminster campus.

Art Exhibit
Features the photo-documentary "Invisible No More: Latinos' Dignity March in Utah," by Dr. Armando Solórzano, and the collection "Bordering on Injustice" by painter Jimmy Lucero, Westminster Art professor.
Date/Location: Feb. 11-22, 2008 in the lobby of the Emma Eccles Jones Conservatory.

Opening Reception:
Religious leaders Rev. Bishop John C. Wester, Catholic Diocese of Salt Lake City; Pastor Steve Klemz, Zion Lutheran Church Elca; Elder Marlin K. Jensen, First Quorum of the Seventy; and Rabbi Fred Wenger will introduce and lead an interfaith dialogue highlighting their perspectives on immigration.

Date/Location: Feb. 13, at 7 p.m., in the Vieve Gore Concert Hall, Emma Eccles Jones Conservatory.

Film
University of Utah students will present their immigration-focused documentaries and lead discussions. Come engage in an open dialogue and gather diverse perspectives on a poignant issue quickly transforming American society.
Date/Location: Feb. 20, 2008 at 6 p.m., in the Gore School of Business Auditorium, Bill and Vieve Gore School of Business.
