Brizia provides one-on-one consultations to residents of Salt Lake City's west side (Rose Park and Glendale areas) regarding basic information on going to college including, but not limited to, application and admission procedures, required and necessary preparation during high school, financial aid and scholarships, and policy and procedure impacting undocumented residents, international students, and immigrants.  She offers presentations to local schools, youth groups, parent groups and/or church groups about the above information.  She also staffs informational tables at local fairs and other community events.  In addition, Brizia is majoring in Political Science and doing a double minor is Ethnic Studies and Business. She was born and grew up in México until five years ago when she moved with her family to Utah. She is fluent in Spanish.

Joél is Chicano and Diné (Navajo) and brings with him passion for educational equity and social justice. With UNP, Joél focuses his time on facilitating, creating and maintaining University-Community partnerships that increase educational outcomes and opportunities for Salt Lake’s west side youth. The vision and mission under Youth Education & Success is to increase the number of youth from west side neighborhoods who are successful at gaining admissions and attending institutions of higher education, generally and the University of Utah, specifically. Joél earned his M.Ed in Education, Culture & Society after Fall of 2007 and holds a BS in Health Promotion & Education from the University of Utah.
